## In one sentence

For each mining pool over 30 days, how much of its blocks was inscriptions, BRC-20, runes and Alkanes against the network's average, and how many well-paying ones waiting in our mempool it left out, with ordinary transactions as the baseline.

## Why this is hard

Some pools filter inscriptions, runes, BRC-20 and Alkanes out of the blocks they build, by policy. Nobody publishes which, and a pool's share of inscriptions alone can't tell filtering from bad luck. Our node can do better, because it knows what the pool **could** have included.

## The two measures

- **Mined share:** how much of each block, by size, was inscriptions, BRC-20, runes and Alkanes, against the network's average. A filtering pool sits near zero; so, briefly, can a pool that was just unlucky.
- **Left out:** when each block arrives, our mempool is compared with what the pool mined. A transaction counts as "could have been included" if it had been waiting at least 2 minutes and paid, with its ancestors, at least 1.1 times the block's 25th-percentile fee rate. Of those, we count how many the pool left out, separately for inscriptions/runes/BRC-20/Alkanes and for ordinary transactions.

Every pool leaves a few out (propagation, template timing), which is why ordinary transactions are the baseline. A pool that leaves out most well-paying inscriptions while including ordinary transactions at the same rates is filtering.

## Known limits

- The "left out" measure needs our mempool as it was just before the block, so it only runs on blocks processed live, not on catch-up after a restart.
- Pools are named from the coinbase tag, which a pool can set to anything.
- A dashboard that has been running for less than 30 days has fewer blocks to go on; the card's note says how many days it actually covers.
